The position involves performing transaction monitoring, client outreach, analysis, and verification on accounts to safeguard the line of business from fraudulent activity and losses. This role requires monitoring accounts in the risk scoring system to identify out-of-pattern activity and mitigate potential losses or fraudulent activity. It also includes conducting fraud investigations, performing client outreach, implementing loss mitigation strategies, and pursuing recovery to minimize losses. The analyst will monitor trends and patterns within the merchant portfolio to detect current issues and prevent future losses, utilize various reports to analyze client relationships and potential risk, and conduct analyses on loss events. The role requires providing expert feedback to management on fraud types and making recommendations for queue revisions and exception reporting. In loss event situations, the analyst will review risk factors, including client relationships with the bank, and contact appropriate regional leadership to inform and take action to minimize overall corporation exposure. Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners, including other institutions and law enforcement, is crucial for gaining assistance in investigations and reviewing loss events. The analyst will also serve as a liaison with third-party chargeback processors and operate as critical personnel during inclement weather, disaster, or emergency situations.
