About The Position

The Merchant, Global Men's Tops plays a central role in defining the product strategy and assortment direction for key categories within the Men's business, including Tees and Sweatshirts. Leveraging consumer insights, marketplace trends, and business performance, you will influence decisions from initial concept through marketplace execution while partnering closely with teams across Planning, Design, Product Development, Marketing, and Commercial. As the team continues to evolve its seasonal framework, ways of working, and approach to bringing product to market, you will have the opportunity to help drive that transformation and contribute to the next chapter of growth for the Global Men's business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of merchandising, buying, category management, or related experience within an apparel manufacturer, retailer, or consumer brand.
  • Brings a consumer-, product-, and business-minded approach to assortment and category decisions, connecting marketplace trends, consumer insights, and financial performance to inform strategy.
  • Partners across Planning, Design, Product Development, Marketing, Commercial, and Regional teams to align priorities, influence decisions, and drive execution through the product lifecycle.
  • Communicates recommendations and category strategies to a range of audiences, including leadership teams, and contributes to key business and assortment decisions.
  • Uses business and financial metrics to identify opportunities, assess risk, and inform assortment, investment, and category decisions.
  • Thrives in environments undergoing change, embracing new ways of working and helping teams navigate complexity, shifting timelines, and evolving priorities.
  • Contributes to a team culture built on partnership, transparency, accountability, and shared outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and business insight development.

Responsibilities

  • Own category strategy and assortment direction for assigned Tops categories, applying consumer insights, marketplace trends, and performance to support category growth.
  • Develop seasonal line plans and assortments that align with brand priorities, consumer needs, channel strategies, and financial goals.
  • Partner with Planning to analyze performance, hindsight learnings, and emerging opportunities to inform future product and assortment strategies.
  • Translate business insights into category recommendations, balancing consumer, brand, and financial considerations throughout the merchandising process.
  • Operate at the center of a cross-functional team, connecting partners across Planning, Design, Product Development, Marketing, Commercial, and Regional Merchandising to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Lead category conversations and represent the business during milestone meetings, including Briefs, Hindsight, Sketch Review, Cluster Download, Global Line Launch, and Investment Reviews.
  • Guide category storytelling and seasonal product strategies from concept through marketplace execution.
  • Foster partnerships built on transparency, accountability, and shared outcomes to support successful execution throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Navigate evolving seasonal calendars, changing processes, and shifting priorities while maintaining progress against key deliverables and business objectives.
  • Partner with Commercial DTC and Brand Experience teams to support execution of key product stories across consumer touchpoints.
