We are currently looking for an experienced Associate/Analyst to join the Piper Sandler Merchant Banking (“PSMB”) team in Minneapolis, MN. PSMB is a growth equity investor currently investing out of its fourth fund. PSMB strives to help businesses grow and succeed by leveraging our firm’s knowledge, experience and relationships. The Associate/Analyst can expect to work closely with the partners in Merchant Banking to make a real impact through involvement in all facets of the private equity process.

Requirements

Minimum two years of Investment Banking, buy-side or related financial experience
Strong work ethic, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and learn quickly
Detail-oriented and analytical mindset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Previous experience with financial modeling or formal training
Positive attitude with a desire to work with and contribute to the culture of a close-knit team
Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

Creating and iterating complex financial models
Conducting financial valuations and creating return models for potential new investments
Working with senior members of the Merchant Banking team to evaluate and conduct due diligence on potential new investments
Preparing investment memoranda
Preparing quarterly valuation reports
Preparing quarterly and annual reports for our limited partners
Maintaining the Merchant Banking deal pipeline and transaction records
