About The Position

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is seeking a Merchandising Specialist for its Retail Chain Sales Division to service multiple customer accounts in Royal Oak and surrounding areas. The role is responsible for timely stocking and handling of merchandise shipped to assigned retail stores, working with store personnel to support effective shelf placement and in-store displays, and assessing display effectiveness and locations. The specialist is expected to maintain a professional demeanor and keep their vehicle clean and organized with adequate point-of-sale and other sales materials. This is a full-time, field-based position involving daily travel and daytime hours that vary by schedule, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend hours may be required as scheduling demands. The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and climbing; lifting, stacking, moving, and rotating items weighing up to 50 pounds; and pushing or pulling carts with up to 100 pounds of force. Operating warehouse equipment may also be necessary. The starting pay is $18.00 per hour, with a $300 monthly non-taxed car allowance. The position includes vacation and personal time, six paid holidays, competitive benefits, and eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) upon hire. Employment offers are conditional on satisfactory pre-employment screenings, including a criminal background check, physical evaluation, agility/lift test, and drug screen. A valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record are required; driving records are screened.

Requirements

Minimum age of 18.
High school diploma or GED.
Basic competency with iOS devices.
Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
Ability to meet the position's physical demands, including lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling carts with up to 100 pounds of force.
Satisfactory completion of required pre-employment screenings, including a criminal background check, physical evaluation, agility/lift test, and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Two years of sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Stock and handle merchandise shipped to assigned retail accounts in a timely manner.
Work with store-level personnel to ensure effective placement of shelf products and in-store displays.
Assess the effectiveness of product displays and display locations.
Build displays.
Manage GLWAS product conditions within stores.
Work with GLWAS District Managers and Area Managers to address product out-of-stocks.
Manage the assigned territory.
Correctly follow the workday plan.
Maintain and use reports, forms, and pre-plans.
Communicate with the Manager daily.
Maintain a professional demeanor and keep the vehicle clean and organized with adequate point-of-sale and other sales materials.
Follow applicable company policies, procedures, MLCC rules, regulations, contracts, signed agreements, and work rules.
