About The Position

This role is primarily focused on merchandising services within the plant department, with a secondary emphasis on customer interaction. The associate will be responsible for executing merchandising plans, building vendor relationships, and ensuring the store's plant displays are attractive and well-maintained. While most of the time will be spent on merchandising tasks, the associate is expected to provide excellent customer service when opportunities arise, assisting customers with locating, demonstrating, selecting, and loading merchandise. This includes answering product-related questions, communicating program benefits, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Requirements

6 Months Live nursery experience or General Merchandising experience

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED
6 Months Lowe’s sales floor experience
6 Months Experience performing product merchandising tasks including reading planograms, setting up and tearing down displays
3 Months Experience operating power equipment such as lifts, order pickers, and similar equipment

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service according to Lowe's policies.
Build vendor relationships by providing direction and ensuring merchandise resets meet specifications.
Collaborate with the Merchandising Service team and Manager on project priorities, schedules, and needs.
Assist customers by locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
Respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer questions and guide them to product areas.
Communicate product information, feature benefits, applications, and warranty details to customers.
Merchandise plants by planogram, price, and color block as they arrive.
Identify and order replacements for damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral.
Update and validate wayfinding and product location signage, including digital information.
Ensure cross merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks, and gravity feed bins are placed appropriately to drive add-on sales.
Assist with culling and pricing dead and distressed plants.
Maintain high communication and partnership with MSM and red vest associates.
Identify and communicate quality, quantity, and additional needs issues to the Outside Garden Supervisor and MSM.
Adjust fixtures, rotate stock, and display products and support materials using power equipment.
Review, complete, and enter completion details for all assigned service and maintenance tasks, including uploading photographs.
Ensure all displays are safe, in working order, and repaired/replaced as needed.
Repair/seal damaged packaging and boxes, including peg-hook items.
Remove trash, move cardboard boxes to the bailer, and move plastic wrap and debris to the compactor.
Replace light bulbs and report additional maintenance issues.
Detect and communicate signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks to management and/or Asset Protection.
Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization.
Maintain a safe and secure work environment, including conducting safety reviews and keeping aisles clear.
Adhere to all safety requirements relevant to job duties, including the use of safety equipment and devices.
Operate store equipment as needed, such as Zebra phones, computers, and power equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
