About The Position

The Merchandising Manager will be responsible for analyzing multi-store and category performance across the CA region to identify trends, risks, and strategic opportunities for growth. This role involves developing and leading regional strategies for product assortment, pricing, promotions, and category growth in alignment with company goals. The Merchandising Manager will also review new item marketability, buying decisions, and item profitability, and provide strategic direction for new item launches and oversee merchandising standards. Additionally, this role will oversee daily, promotional, and seasonal order flows, lead the resolution of significant operational issues, approve promotional pricing, and prepare regular performance analyses and strategic reports for leadership. The Merchandising Manager will serve as a key liaison among CA stores, HQ, SCM, vendors, and the CA Distribution Center, and lead merchandising and operational readiness for new store openings.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required
  • Strong English communication skills required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and PowerPoint.
  • 1–3 years of experience in sales, grocery retail, merchandising, or a related field
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean and insurable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Korean or Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with SAP B1, retail sales/BI reporting, category management, and gross profit (GP) analysis preferred.
  • Multi-store or category management experience in the CA region preferred.
  • Experience coordinating multi-store projects and new store openings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze multi-store and category performance across the CA region to identify trends, risks, and strategic opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and lead regional strategies for product assortment, pricing, promotions, and category growth in alignment with company goals.
  • Review new item marketability, buying decisions, and item profitability (GP), and recommend actions to improve category performance.
  • Provide strategic direction for new item launches and oversee merchandising, display standards, and in-store execution across CA stores.
  • Oversee daily, promotional, and seasonal order flows, including allocation, delivery performance, and urgent or short-dated items.
  • Lead the resolution of significant operational issues and coordinate with SCM, vendors, stores, warehouse leadership, and HQ to drive timely and sustainable solutions.
  • Approve promotional pricing, evaluate financial impact, and prepare regular performance analyses and strategic reports for leadership.
  • Serve as a key liaison among CA stores, HQ, SCM, vendors, and the CA Distribution Center, while leading merchandising and operational readiness for new store openings.
