About The Position

This position provides administrative and customer support to our trading activities. The position is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of the entire purchase and sales contract process from entry to final settlement and continuous communication with all counterparties involved, including customers, vendors, and logistics providers. Please note: this position is expected to be temporary in nature with an estimated duration of 9-12 months. Location: in office or hybrid from Boulder, CO or Kansas City (Parkville), MO. Remote candidates will also be considered.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Merchandising Assistant experience in the grain industry required.
  • Knowledge of accounting processes and ability to reconcile information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to learn accounting and proprietary trading software.
  • Must be self-motivated, capable of working independently and with others.
  • Strong organization and research skills.
  • Good customer service, interpersonal, and human relations skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to multitask with solid attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to project strong, clear and concise communication with all levels of the organization and with external customers.
  • Possess excellent follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Trader with documenting daily trading of commodities, including data entry into ERP to record physical contracts, hedges, settlements, and cash application.
  • Manage ticket applications by checking shipment detail for accuracy, applying to correct contracts, setting up associated payables and receivables, generating and issuing sales invoices to customers, setting up freight payables, and processing payments.
  • Provide logistical support for commodity shipments by various means of shipment, including rail, truck, container or barge. May include supplying and billing of equipment, tracing rail cars, and troubleshooting delivery issues.
  • Manage and reconcile offsite inventories.
  • Assist customers in resolving commodity, freight, and accounting inquiries.
  • Maintain brokerage information and commissions.
  • Oversee certifications with various Vendors/Agencies.
  • Acts as the first point of contact in the collection of accounts receivable.
  • Process intercompany transactions as needed.
  • Utilize computer programs to maintain purchases, sales, and daily position reports.
