About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the community. The position focuses on merchandising and processing freight while assisting with store functions and day-to-day activities. The role also supports the Store Manager with merchandise processing, freight flow, ordering and stocking, and maintaining an effective sales floor. Duties may change or be supplemented as business needs evolve, and other related duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Prior retail experience is preferred.
• Prior management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom, sales floor, and other store areas to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications about store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and pleasantly with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated products, in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
