About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the community, with a focus on merchandising and freight processing. The role assists with store functions and daily activities, supports store operations and standards, and helps maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates. The position also assists the Store Manager with processing and returning direct-store-delivery merchandise, managing freight flow, ordering and stocking merchandise—including frozen and refrigerated products—and keeping the sales floor effective. Additional merchandising work includes planning and maintaining Clip Strips and Power Panels and implementing monthly Sales Planners. Other duties may be assigned, and the job description may be modified as business needs evolve.

Requirements

Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Prior retail and management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
Process corporate directives and communications, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information requests.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated products, in accordance with productivity standards.
Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
