About The Position

The Hillman Group Canada is a company that services a wide variety of customers in the Automotive, Industrial, Retail and Agricultural channels, with products found in major retailers like Home Depot, Lowes, Canadian Tire, and Walmart. The Canadian division employs over 700 professionals across 2 manufacturing and 7 distribution facilities. The Merchandiser role is a seasonal position, from May 11th to the end of August, responsible for ensuring products are merchandised on shelves in a timely manner, setting up and tearing down displays, and clearing unwanted products. This role requires weekly visits to different big box retail stores, driving one's own vehicle, and the ability to constantly lift/move 30-40 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Outlook.
• Performs function with a sense of purpose and a degree of urgency.
• Creates a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills (oral & written).

Nice To Haves

• 0-2 years as a representative or similar job in a big box retailer environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure merchandise is displayed appropriately and strategically with proper signage and shelf placement.
• Build and maintain product displays.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Bring issues and discrepancies to the attention of the Detailer or Detailer Supervisor.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Follow store safety rules and work in a safe and healthy manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
