About The Position

The Merchandiser (Operations Trainee) is responsible for all aspects of product merchandising in large format accounts. This includes stocking shelves and coolers, building and removing displays and ad features, organizing and rotating products on shelves and in the backroom, and moving product from the backroom to the sales floor. The role involves building customer relationships at the store level, delivering best-in-class customer service through communication, building rapport, and showing attentiveness to customer needs. The employee will communicate with customers to identify and understand their product or service needs, ensuring full attention is given to the account at all times. Ensuring customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management, and resolving any issues that may arise are key aspects of the position. The role also requires communication and coordination with merchandising teammates, delivery drivers, and presales representatives to ensure excellent service for each customer. The employee will work the established schedule, including weekend days, and must follow uniform and grooming guidelines. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work reliably and independently with minimal daily supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Clean and insurable driving record.
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
  • Reliable transportation to access multiple store locations within an assigned shift.
  • Proof of insurance that meets the company’s minimum requirements.
  • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a retail business or grocery store preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Fills, merchandises, and rotates products according to published merchandising standards in all beverage locations throughout the account.
  • Organizes, rotates, and maintains backroom by stacking and arranging products by package and flavor, arranging the return of empty pallets and shells, damaged and out of date products to the warehouse.
  • Repacks damaged product for sale when possible; arranges credits for product that cannot be repacked with pre-sales representative.
  • Builds customer relationships at the store level; delivers best-in-class customer service through communication, building rapport, and showing attentiveness to customer needs.
  • Communicate with customers to identify and understand their product or service needs; ensuring your full attention is given to the account at all times.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise.
  • Communicates and coordinates with merchandising teammates, delivery drivers, and presales representatives to ensure excellent service for each customer.
  • Works the established schedule including weekend days.
