At Frontgate, we are looking for a strategic, analytical Merchandise Planner to help guide category performance through disciplined sales, inventory, and margin planning reporting to the Director of Planning. You will partner with Merchandising and cross-functional teams to turn assortment strategies into actionable plans that support growth, profitability, and an elevated customer experience.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in retail planning, forecasting, inventory management, financial planning, or financial analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, merchandising, economics, business, statistics, or a related field
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related planning, finance, or analytical systems.
  • Experience working with data management and planning systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in direct-to-consumer retail and upscale assortments, including furniture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales, inventory, and margin plans that support category financial goals and customer needs.
  • Build forecasts, manage buys, and maintain healthy inventory levels to balance service, demand, and productivity.
  • Lead open-to-buy planning and help optimize inventory investment across the category.
  • Monitor performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to improve sales, margin, and inventory efficiency.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Sourcing, Digital, Creative, Supply Chain, and vendor partners to execute category plans.
  • Support assortment planning by using historical trends, forecasts, pricing insights, and performance data to guide decisions.
  • Drive in-season reforecasting, markdown planning, and inventory actions to respond to changing business needs.
  • Maintain operational execution through vendor communication, item data accuracy, and support for important business processes.
