About The Position

TJ Maxx is seeking a Merchandise Coordinator to join their team. This role is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring efficient processing by Associates, and maintaining an excellent customer experience through engagement and store upkeep. The position involves orchestrating truck deliveries, prioritizing merchandise processing, training Associates on merchandising principles, and ensuring proper tagging and coding of merchandise. The Merchandise Coordinator will also manage back stock organization, uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards, and ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs. Effective communication with management and Associates regarding priorities and progress updates is crucial, as is providing and accepting feedback. The role also involves supporting management on Associate training needs, ensuring adherence to labor laws and policies, promoting credit and loyalty programs, supporting shrink reduction goals, and promoting safety awareness. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Executing receiving and merchandising standards
  • Ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team
  • Creating a positive internal and external customer experience
  • Orchestrating truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
  • Training and mentoring Associates on established merchandising and processing principles
  • Ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
  • Communicating with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to sales floor
  • Ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizing as needed
  • Monitoring productivity of team and coaching as necessary
  • Organizing and rotating back stock for easy replenishment
  • Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
  • Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
  • Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
  • Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; providing progress updates
  • Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback
  • Partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
  • Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
  • Promoting credit and loyalty programs
  • Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs
  • Promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment
