About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role adheres to operational, merchandising, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The associate models established customer experience practices and supports a positive store culture grounded in honesty, integrity, and respect. Duties include ringing purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, processing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining merchandising standards, and participating in store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. The associate also follows applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures and performs other duties as assigned. The position is located at the TJ Maxx store in Stafford Township, New Jersey. Starting pay is $15.92 to $16.42 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following established customer experience practices.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to established procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and participate in upkeep of the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
May be cross-trained to work in multiple store areas to support business needs.
