About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience through engaging with customers and applying the company’s customer experience principles. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized store, following operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards, and potentially working in multiple store areas to support business needs.

Associates contribute to a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; handle customer purchases and returns according to established procedures; support credit and loyalty programs; process merchandise for the sales floor; and participate in store recovery, safety awareness, and shrink-reduction efforts. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Engage and interact with customers to deliver a highly satisfied customer experience.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to established procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Uphold the merchandising philosophy and follow merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Work in multiple areas of the store as needed to support business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
