About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The role follows operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. Associates support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; accurately handle customer purchases and returns; promote credit and loyalty programs; process merchandise for the sales floor; and maintain store recovery, cleanliness, and safety standards. The position also supports shrink-reduction efforts, follows applicable labor laws and company policies, and performs other duties as assigned. The role is located at TJ Maxx Store 1630 in Millington, Tennessee. Starting pay is $13.00–$13.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits are subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following customer experience principles.
Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Follow the merchandising philosophy and established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and help maintain the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Follow labor laws, company policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
