About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role adheres to operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. Duties include assisting with transactions and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, processing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining merchandising standards, participating in store recovery and cleanliness, supporting shrink-reduction and safety programs, and working effectively with customers, peers, and supervisors. Other duties may be assigned.

The position is at TJ Maxx Store 1299 in Grand Junction, Colorado. Starting pay is $15.50 to $16.00 per hour, with actual starting pay based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits are subject to applicable plan terms and, for some benefits, service or hours requirements.

Responsibilities

• Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Uphold the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and participate in maintaining and cleaning the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
