About The Position

The Merchandise Allocator, DTC is responsible for optimizing sales, margin, and inventory productivity through strategic allocation and replenishment of merchandise across retail store locations. This role partners closely with Planning, Merchandising, and cross-functional teams to ensure strong in-stock positions, efficient inventory flow, and alignment with overall assortment and inventory productivity goals in an omni-channel retail environment.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of retail merchandise allocation experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, and COUNTIFs
  • Experience with allocation and planning systems such as Blue Yonder, JDA, Luminate, or similar tools
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate data-driven recommendations effectively to cross-functional partners
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Experience in a direct-to-consumer (DTC) or omni-channel retail environment
  • Familiarity with open-to-buy planning processes and subcategory inventory management

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute allocation and replenishment strategies for assigned merchandise categories across retail store locations to support sales growth and inventory productivity.
  • Manage inventory flow throughout the product lifecycle, including initial allocations, replenishment, markdowns, and end-of-life inventory management.
  • Align allocation strategies with merchandise plans and inventory targets to support broader business objectives.
  • Analyze store-level sales trends, inventory performance, and product movement to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Utilize allocation systems and tools to optimize product distribution by maintaining store attributes, allocation parameters, and replenishment methodologies.
  • Prepare and maintain recurring and ad hoc reporting to support inventory decisions and operational execution.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, allocation challenges, and supply chain issues to improve merchandise flow and store performance.
  • Support pre-season and in-season planning activities by providing store-level inventory insights and recommendations.
