About The Position

The MEP VDC Fabrication Database Coordinator is a client-facing technical specialist responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting Autodesk Fabrication databases and content for MEP and specialty trade contractors. Working closely with client VDC teams, BIM managers, detailers, estimators, fabrication personnel, and project stakeholders, this role creates and manages ITM content, configures and improves fabrication databases, troubleshoots technical issues, performs quality assurance testing, and maintains clear documentation. The ideal candidate combines hands-on Autodesk Fabrication expertise with strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills to deliver reliable, standardized, and scalable database solutions that support client-approved fabrication workflows and business objectives.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with Autodesk Fabrication content, databases, or MEP fabrication workflows.
  • Hands-on experience creating, modifying, testing, and supporting Autodesk Fabrication ITM parts.
  • Proficiency with one or more Autodesk Fabrication products, including CADmep, CAMduct, ESTmep, or Revit Fabrication Parts.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Fabrication databases, services, specifications, materials, connectors, and related content configurations.
  • Understanding of MEP systems and construction workflows, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, electrical, or specialty trades.
  • Experience interpreting manufacturer documentation, product specifications, fabrication standards, and technical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting, quality assurance, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, organization, and client-service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, maintainable solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years supporting MEP contractors, fabrication shops, detailing departments, or VDC teams.
  • Experience managing multiple Autodesk Fabrication databases across clients or business units.
  • Experience with both sheet metal and piping fabrication content.
  • Experience integrating Autodesk Fabrication databases with Revit fabrication workflows.
  • Familiarity with Design Line, spooling, estimating, CAM output, fabrication, and installation workflows.
  • Experience with database migrations, software upgrades, content standardization, and configuration deployment.
  • Knowledge of BIM coordination, database governance, version control, and quality management practices.
  • Experience providing client training, technical support, mentoring, or consulting services.
  • Autodesk certifications or related BIM, VDC, fabrication, or trade credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and maintain Autodesk Fabrication databases and ITM content for MEP and specialty trade contractors.
  • Create and modify fabrication content, including parts, services, specifications, materials, connectors, and related database components.
  • Build new client databases and enhance existing configurations to support fabrication, detailing, estimating, and Revit fabrication workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Autodesk Fabrication database, content, and configuration issues while providing ongoing technical support.
  • Conduct testing and quality assurance to ensure database changes and content function correctly prior to deployment.
  • Gather, document, and translate client requirements into scalable, standardized database and content solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, change logs, version control, testing records, and deployment procedures.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to support project delivery, database governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and technical guidance on Autodesk Fabrication database management best practices.
  • Support database migrations, software upgrades, content standardization efforts, and other strategic client initiatives.
