About The Position

The MEP Specialist sits at the core of project success. You’ll provide expertise across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, low-voltage, and controls systems from early pursuit through project turnover. Working closely with project teams, you will help ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient MEP execution while supporting cost analysis, scheduling, system performance, and contract development for multiple projects. You will also elevate Choate’s technical capabilities by mentoring teammates and building strong relationships with clients, design partners, and trade contractors to help secure new opportunities and achieve exceptional outcomes.

Requirements

  • Technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, low-voltage, and controls systems.
  • Ability to support projects from design through construction and turnover.
  • Partnership with preconstruction, project management, and field teams.
  • Collaboration with trade partners for scope, sequencing, and system integration.
  • Support for cost evaluations, constructability reviews, value engineering, and procurement.
  • Championing safety and quality in the field.
  • Mentoring and developing project teams.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, designers, and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, low-voltage, and controls systems, supporting projects from design through construction and turnover.
  • Partner with preconstruction, project management, and field teams to drive alignment, support decision-making, and ensure seamless MEP execution.
  • Collaborate directly with trade partners to coordinate scope, sequencing, and system integration, stepping in to lead MEP scopes when needed.
  • Support cost evaluations, constructability reviews, value engineering, and procurement efforts to deliver efficient and effective project solutions.
  • Champion safety and quality in the field, ensuring all systems meet Choate’s high standards and are successfully commissioned.
  • Mentor and develop project teams, sharing MEP knowledge and helping strengthen overall team capability and performance.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, designers, and partners, contributing to repeat business and new project opportunities through expertise and service.
