The MEP Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle delivery of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across a large-scale, multi-phase hyperscale data center campus. This includes managing design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover of critical infrastructure systems that support high-availability operations. The role will have a strong focus on mechanical yard and exterior infrastructure, including installation and integration of major equipment such as generators, chillers, cooling systems, fuel systems, and associated distribution networks. The Project Manager will coordinate closely with General Contractors, MEP trade partners, and engineers to ensure seamless execution of both indoor and outdoor systems. Responsibilities also include managing project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders, while ensuring all systems meet strict mission-critical standards for redundancy, reliability, and performance. This position requires heavy cross-functional coordination to support phased construction and successful commissioning of complex MEP systems across the campus.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of experience in construction or project management.
  • Strong background in MEP systems within data center or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience working directly with General Contractors (REQUIRED).
  • Hands-on experience with Electrical infrastructure (UPS, generators, substations).
  • Hands-on experience with Mechanical systems (cooling, chillers, HVAC).
  • Experience supporting ground-up construction projects.
  • Understanding of outdoor/mechanical yard equipment and infrastructure.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-trade coordination.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a professional work environment, including preparing written reports and documentation, conveying information clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders, and responding appropriately to verbal and written communications related to job duties.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to drive between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and construction-related noise, vibrations, and odors.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and site personnel, and maintain situational awareness in high-activity environments.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.
