About The Position

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in commercial/institutional building projects
  • 5+ years’ experience designing HVAC / Plumbing systems for buildings
  • Strong AutoCAD and Revit capabilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong Analytical and quantitative skills, and a demonstrated capability for analysis and strategic thinking
  • Strong initiative—the willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Ability to multi-task with multiple projects to meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD Fabrication a plus
  • EIT or PE license desired

Responsibilities

  • Design plumbing systems including sanitary, venting, water distribution, and gas piping systems
  • Perform system design calculations, pipe sizing, and layout routing within building
  • Select equipment for use in building systems
  • Prepare contract drawings detailing the designed systems
  • Verify that systems designed are compliant with applicable codes
  • Communicate and coordinate with architects, owners, other engineering disciplines, vendors, building officials, other consultants, etc. throughout the design phases of the building project
  • Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them
  • Manage a small project, work area or technical skills set, monitor quality of work, and is involved in client liaison
  • Participating in BIM coordination meetings
