About The Position

Lease Crutcher Lewis is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee the installation, commissioning, and turnover of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, low-voltage, and related building systems on large, highly complex data center and advanced technology projects. In this role, you will support projects from estimating through closeout and warranty, serving as the technical authority and coordination lead for mission-critical MEP infrastructure. You will partner closely with design teams, trade partners, commissioning agents, vendors, owners, and internal stakeholders to keep complex systems aligned and integrated. The ideal candidate brings strong MEP systems expertise, mission-critical or advanced technology project experience, clear communication, and the ability to solve complex problems in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field.
  • 5+ years of industry experience, with at least 3 years focused on mission-critical, data center, and/or advanced technology projects.
  • Understanding of critical cooling, electrical distribution, backup power systems, telecommunications, BMS/EPMS architectures, and fire life safety systems.
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality, and risk management in mission-critical environments.
  • Experience in preconstruction planning, estimating, subcontractor bidding, project scheduling, MEP installation, commissioning, and integrated system testing.
  • Experience with BIM/VDC coordination processes.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office products, Bluebeam, Primavera, and project management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective conflict resolution skills, high attention to detail, and strong organization and time management.
  • Ability to solve challenging and complex problems, make sound decisions, and work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
  • Ability to continue professional development to stay current with emerging technologies, methods, and best practices.
  • Current driver’s license and clean driving record per company vehicle policy.
  • Successful completion of required pre-employment screening is a conditional requirement of the employment process.
  • Physical requirements include regular communication, requiring the ability to see, talk, and hear, as well as the ability to frequently stand, walk, and use hands, fingers, and arms.
  • Additional abilities include sitting, climbing, and balancing, as well as the ability to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and access all areas of an active construction site, including areas with uneven footing, working at heights, and working in varying climate conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, and low-voltage trades to ensure work meets contract documents, specifications, codes, and mission-critical standards.
  • Partner with design teams, consultants, commissioning agents, and internal stakeholders to keep MEP planning and construction aligned.
  • Review construction documents for constructability, completeness, code compliance, design gaps, and alignment with phasing and sequencing.
  • Oversee estimating, purchasing, accounting, construction, safety, and quality assurance activities for MEP subcontractors.
  • Coordinate scope instructions, technical requirements, bid packages, subcontractor agreement exhibits, and vendor requirements for MEP work.
  • Review subcontractor bids, budgets, RFIs, submittmits, equipment logs, procurement logs, and long-lead material needs to support buyout and procurement.
  • Work with VDC coordinators to integrate MEP, architectural, structural, civil, and IT systems in the project’s federated BIM model.
  • Lead BIM coordination and MEP/commissioning meetings to support clash resolution, operational planning, and timely decision-making.
  • Support onsite construction, startup, balancing, commissioning, validation, owner training, punch list resolution, turnover, closeout, and warranty activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety at all times and actively contribute to safety-based planning during preconstruction, planning, and execution.
  • Support execution of the project’s Site Specific Safety Plan and Energy Management Plan, including required safety inspections, observations, and MEP-related incident investigations.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure MEP installation aligns with project documents, specifications, codes, mission-critical standards, safety expectations, and Lewis quality standards.
  • Coordinate startup, testing, and commissioning activities with commissioning agents, trade partners, vendors, and client operations teams.
  • Develop project-specific commissioning schedules, integrate commissioning activities with overall project milestones, and manage equipment startup checklist execution and accuracy.
  • Lead with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach that builds trust with clients, project teams, trade partners, vendors, and senior leaders.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and professionally so team members have the context they need to act quickly and confidently.
  • Support technical on-the-job training for project engineering staff, including contract documents, submittal reviews, RFIs, design coordination, and quality control.
  • Promote strong working relationships and open communication across all parties connected to the project.
  • Ensure required subcontractor documentation is received and submitted, including insurance certificates, bonds, site-specific safety plans, SDS information, and other project controls materials.
  • Review MEP invoices, cash flow forecasts, budgets, cost forecasts, and change orders in partnership with project leadership.
  • Use project management systems to manage procurement, submittal deadlines, approval dates, shop drawings, RFIs, changes, work orders, and T&M work.
  • Coordinate with client operations teams to track and manage Method of Procedure review and submission requirements.
  • Track and resolve MEP observation and punch list items; collect, review, and submit closeout documentation and equipment turnover records.
