About The Position

Beck is looking for a qualified Assistant Project Manager – MEP to join an extraordinary project team. While this is an individual role, you will be involved in all phases of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout. As the Assistant Project Manager – MEP, you will support project leadership in managing MEP trade partners, design coordination, schedule integration, budget tracking, and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant construction, MEP coordination, commissioning, or project management experience.
  • College graduate with a relevant degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems.
  • Experience coordinating MEP trade partners and managing design and construction documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using Excel, Procore, Bluebeam, CMiC, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, Synchro, and other construction technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of all MEP systems throughout design and construction.
  • Assist field personnel in verifying MEP installations are in accordance with contract documents, specifications, code requirements, and project standards.
  • Process and ensure compliance of MEP-related subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and procurement activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, consultants, and trade partners to ensure MEP systems are fully integrated within the project design.
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, clash detection meetings, and BIM/VDC coordination efforts.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating project risks related to MEP systems, long-lead equipment, utility requirements, and commissioning activities.
  • Track MEP budgets, forecasts, and cost impacts while supporting value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Assist in developing procurement strategies for major MEP equipment and materials.
  • Monitor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, testing requirements, startup activities, and commissioning documentation.
  • Support project scheduling efforts by coordinating MEP activities with overall project milestones and construction sequencing.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and owners.
  • Understand and implement Beck's Health & Safety program.
  • Support project turnover activities including training, warranty management, closeout documentation, and owner handoff.
  • Effectively supervise and mentor Project Engineers, Interns, and other team members as assigned.
