The St. John’s University Upward Bound Program provides fundamental support to participants from Long Island City High School in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education. The St. John’s University Upward Bound program is currently seeking (3) Mentors/Teachers for our summer program, which will be held at St. John’s University. The summer program will begin on July 7th and end on August 6th. Mentors/Teachers who are hired will also have the opportunity to work 10-15 hours a week during the school year.
