This role is for the Merced Crisis Residential Unit (Merced CRU) and operates on a Tuesday-Saturday PM Shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The program is a 24/7 inpatient voluntary program with a 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59) offering rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services, pre-vocational or vocational counseling, and medication evaluation and support services.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid California Driver’s License required and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in a social science field preferred.
  • One (1) year of full-time direct care experience preferred OR one (1) year experience of non-professional consumer-directed internship in mental health field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and assists clients with self-help skills in the areas of eating, hygiene and grooming and other activity or nursing activities.
  • Monitors client’s attendance at assigned activities and maximizes client participation through appropriate motivational techniques.
  • Conducts and assists activity groups and community outings independently.
  • Encourages client’s interaction and socialization with other peers, providing feedback to clients on appropriate behavior while acting as a role model.
  • Accurately documents in writing each client’s attendance and response to activity and therapeutic groups or individual counseling in the individual medical record.
  • May be required to operate a company vehicle to transport clients.
