About The Position
Passavant Memorial Homes is a leading provider of support for individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral health needs, dedicated to empowering them to live successfully in the community. The Long-Term Structured Residence (LTSR) program offers a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals with mental health diagnoses to develop independence and social integration skills. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are essential in assisting individuals with daily activities, personal care, and daily living tasks, embodying the mission of Passavant Memorial Homes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months experience working directly with individuals with mental health diagnosis and/or developmental disabilities
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with personal care, such as bathing, shaving, dressing, oral hygiene, etc.
- Provide a safe, healthy and clean living environment
- Perform needed housekeeping duties
- Provide assistance with tasks of daily living such as shopping, care of personal possessions, telephone use, and social/leisure activities
- Observe for behavioral and physical changes in condition, and report as appropriate
- Offer input into the development of the Treatment Plan
- Maintain various records pertaining to individuals, following established documentation methods
