Requirements

• Must have current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State, if a CNA.
• BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year experience working as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting (if not a CNA).
• One (1) year prior mental health experience.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist the licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care including assistance with activities of daily living (Inpatient).
• Support unit functions and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and co-workers (Inpatient).
• Function as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team and communicate pertinent patient information to the supervising RN (Inpatient).
• Perform some clerical duties as assigned (Inpatient).
• Provide basic nursing care for the adult and geriatric patients (Inpatient).
• Perform responsibilities within the guidelines of the Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing Policy and state regulatory and accrediting requirements (Inpatient).
• Carry out activities of daily living program for the psychiatric patients (Outpatient).
• Carry out individual treatment plans for the psychiatric patients (Outpatient).
