Requirements

  • Must have current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State, if a CNA.
  • BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

  • If not a CNA, have a minimum of one year experience working as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting preferred.
  • One (1) year prior mental health experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the licensed nursing staff (RN, LVN or Charge RN) in providing and documenting patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living, for inpatient settings.
  • Support unit functions and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and co-workers in inpatient settings.
  • Function as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team and communicate pertinent patient information to the supervising RN in inpatient settings.
  • Perform some clerical duties as assigned and provide basic nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in inpatient settings.
  • Perform responsibilities within the guidelines of the Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing Policy, and state regulatory and accrediting requirements in inpatient settings.
  • Carry out activities of daily living programs and individual treatment plans for psychiatric patients under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing, RN, and Program Director in outpatient settings.
