About The Position
This role involves assisting licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care, including activities of daily living, for adult and geriatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The Mental Health Worker functions as part of the interdisciplinary care team, maintaining a safe and clean environment and communicating pertinent patient information. Responsibilities include performing basic nursing care and clerical duties as assigned, adhering to hospital policies and state regulations.
Requirements
- Current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) issued by the State, OR a minimum of one year experience working as a Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting.
- BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year prior mental health experience preferred.
- Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living.
- Supports unit functions and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and co-workers.
- Functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team and communicates pertinent patient information to the supervising RN.
- Performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Provides basic nursing care for adult and geriatric patients.
- Carries out activities of daily living program and individual treatment plans for psychiatric patients in an outpatient setting.
