Mental Health Worker
About The Position
Performs direct observation of the patient with a mental health or behavioral safety need. Utilizes specialized training, de-escalation techniques and other interventions as applicable to create a therapeutic and calming environment for patients. Communicates patient mental and/or physical status changes to the primary Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Leader. Completes data collection related to patient care, administers basic treatments and procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse, and communicates patient responses to the care provided to the Registered Nurse. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
Requirements
- High School/ GED (Required)
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of therapeutic interventions.
- Basic computer skills
- BLS
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related human services field, preferred
- One year experience in an acute care setting, mental health, human services or related is preferred.
