About The Position

Assisted Living Program- Maple House Regular Part-Time Options Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering social services across the Southern Fraser region (Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley) from early childhood to seniors. Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community. POSITION OVERVIEW Are you committed to supporting individuals on their journey to mental wellness? Join our Housing and Mental Health Program as a Mental Health Worker and make a meaningful impact in a stable and nurturing environment. In this role, you'll assist clients with medication administration, support psychosocial activities, and aid in daily living tasks. Our program emphasizes psychosocial rehabilitation, focusing on recovery, community integration, and enhancing quality of life. If you're passionate about helping individuals build skills, achieve independence, and thrive, we invite you to be part of our dedicated team. Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will support clients in both residential and community settings to enhance their independence. Key responsibilities include safely administering medications, monitoring client well-being, and documenting their physical and mental health. You will respond to emergencies, advocate for clients' rights, and collaborate with team members and community services. Additionally, you'll contribute to program development, maintain professional growth, and engage clients in activities. Your role also involves light housekeeping, reporting on client progress, and addressing health and safety issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience
  • Mental Health Worker/Residential Care Aide certificate
  • Level I First Aid certification
  • FoodSafe certification
  • Unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for work
  • Experience working with individuals facing substance misuse or untreated mental illness
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Firm understanding of harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches
  • Effective crisis de-escalation skills
  • Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation practices and program policies
  • Proficiency in relevant software
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform job duties
  • Capable of observing client changes
  • Capable of facilitating group activities
  • Undergo a Police Information Check (PIC)
  • Undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice
