26-10280 Part Time Mental Health Worker - Families Forward/Crisis Services
About The Position
Under the general supervision of the Families Forward/Crisis Services Coordinator, this role provides a supportive atmosphere for families and children experiencing acute mental health crisis in both mobile crisis and office settings. The position involves extensive work with community emergency personnel, including police officers and EMTs, co-responding to aspects of crisis situations, and monitoring program activity. The Mental Health Worker assists therapists and interacts with consumers in a short-term crisis intervention program, providing supportive services and direct interventions in accordance with treatment plans developed by professional personnel. Responsibilities include maintaining a secure environment, obtaining and sharing information within the CMHA-CEI system, and carrying out all program activities in alignment with CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures. Requirements
- Possession of a High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
- A minimum of six months’ experience working with consumers experiencing mental health crisis required.
- Must be able to problem solve crisis situations and de-escalate behavioral health crisis with Consumers both individually and in group settings.
- Must demonstrate a working knowledge of clinical diagnoses for this population.
- Experience with children and adolescents with Severe Emotional Disturbance and their families required.
- Must be able to process information in order to recognize problems and solutions.
- Demonstrates knowledge and effectiveness in interpersonal skills including productivity and conflict resolution.
- Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required.
- Ability to process extensive documentation is required.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities

- Obtains and shares information with therapists in the CMHA-CEI system.
- Provides a variety of supportive services and direct interventions with families and children experiencing behavioral health crisis in accordance with treatment plans developed by professional personnel.
