About The Position

CoreCivic is hiring a PRN Mental Health Therapist to plan and provide non-medical clinical mental health services in a facility. The role supports the mental health needs of inmates through screenings, assessments, treatment planning, counseling, and crisis intervention. The therapist documents care in health records and maintains strict confidentiality.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical area.
• Five years of clinical experience, including two years in a comparable job position.
• Appropriate certification or licensing in the state where practice occurs.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• A valid driver’s license is preferred unless required by contract or applicable statute.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments using available records and clinical interviews with inmates.
• Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans based on evaluations of inmates’ needs and level of functioning.
• Document treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information.
• Apply knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques through treatment and activities for individuals on the caseload.
• Provide mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions to address inmates’ needs.
