About The Position

Nexus Family Healing-Woodbourne Campus is seeking three (3) Mental Health Therapists to provide mental and behavioral health services to male identifying youth, ages 12 - 18. Woodbourne Campus, located in Baltimore, Maryland, has a long history of serving youth in need. Nexus Family Healing affiliated with the campus in 2012, bringing innovative trauma-informed practices. The ideal candidate will be a licensed social worker or counselor experienced with Trauma-Informed practices and clinical diagnosis treatment processes. This role offers opportunities for professional growth and development within a diverse and inclusive national mental health organization. The position requires the therapist to work ON-SITE.

Requirements

Master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology, counseling, or clinically related fields.
If currently unlicensed and clinical licensure is required in Maryland: Must be on track to complete licensure for a specific, related discipline.
And/or currently holds a provisional/intermediary license for a specific track (i.e. LGSW, LMSW, LGPC).
Valid driver’s license required.
Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements.

Nice To Haves

Fully licensed in appropriate state as an LCSW, LCPC, LCSW-C.
Related residential or human services experience working with youth and families.

Responsibilities

Provide overall management of youth’s treatment through active engagement, clinical assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
Provide clinical insight and work from a trauma informed lens to enhance the milieu and programming.
Engage with families through family therapy and treatment planning.
Collaborate with the community and providers related to the youth’s progress and discharge planning.
Create and drive a trauma-informed environment; establishing and maintaining a positive treatment culture and making necessary changes to ensure success.
Collaborate with youth and family to lead and develop the Nexus Individual and Family Guidance Plans; ensuring staff understand and utilize them in adherence to policy.
Engage in and have active involvement of the Family Collaborative Intake meetings.
Complete Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths functional assessment in accordance to the TCOM (collaborative) principals.
Develop and monitor individual treatment plans through collaborative effort with family, youth, and providers.
Provide individualized, youth-focused, strength and evidenced-based family and individual therapy models to youth and families (e.g., Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Attend and participate in mandatory clinical supervision and team case consultation meetings in accordance with program expectations.
Develop and facilitate milieu and treatment groups that are trauma informed, educational, and treatment focused.
Participate in all youth related treatment team meetings, using family centered language and youth driven principals.
Serve as a clinical treatment team leader to YCP's, modeling and coaching staff on rapport building, trauma-informed practices, and de-escalation techniques.
Be available on-call for consultation/treatment direction and/or decisions when appropriate.
Assess readiness for discharge in conjunction with the treatment team and coordinate/recommend therapeutic services for success after discharge.
Coordinate/communicate aftercare needs of the client with family and all necessary social service and community providers to ensure a smooth transition.
Communicate with the treatment team to include all desired and necessary family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providers (as well as all-natural supports that the youth and family identify) to gather all necessary information to inform and support the treatment process.
Ensure that all required client reports, records, and all documentation are produced accurately and maintained in a consistent, timely, and professional manner according to policy and regulated statutes.
Educate and facilitate trainings for staff on trauma informed practices, clinical diagnosis treatment processes, and other clinically relevant training material.
Participate in team meetings, program clinical team meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions, and in-service as required.
Ensure confidentiality regarding mental health, medical issues, background treatment and comply with all HIPAA related requirements.
Remain current on all company policies, assigned trainings and/or certification requirements.
Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
