About The Position

BetterCare Wellness is an evidence-based counseling practice dedicated to serving residents of Senior Living Communities. Our mission is to enhance emotional well-being through compassionate, accessible mental health care while partnering closely with community leadership, healthcare providers, residents, and families. We believe that better care starts with meaningful relationships and exceptional clinical support. BetterCare Wellness is seeking a licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality behavioral health services within Senior Living Communities throughout the Charlotte area. This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful therapeutic relationships while working collaboratively with interdisciplinary care teams to improve residents' quality of life.

Requirements

  • Active South Carolina license as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Psychologist
  • Master's degree or doctoral degree in a behavioral health discipline.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with community care teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with older adults or geriatric behavioral health is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual psychotherapy to older adults.
  • Facilitate group therapy and psychoeducational programs.
  • Provide family counseling and support during care transitions.
  • Complete comprehensive psychosocial assessments and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with Medicare and payer requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, executive directors, wellness teams, and families.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
  • Assist communities with behavioral health education and consultation.
  • Support residents experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment disorders, cognitive changes, and other behavioral health concerns.
