About The Position

Excelsior Family Medicine is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to join their team. This established clinic consists of 10 providers working collaboratively to address client needs, encouraging engagement in both mental and physical health. The mental health therapist will provide direct clinical care and support to enrolled patients, contributing to ongoing quality improvement efforts to optimize their recovery. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with experts in various disciplinary fields, providing a platform for therapists to gain valuable insight and experience. The position embraces a team approach, working alongside a supportive group dedicated to delivering high-quality care and comprehensive support for youth and families.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensed or ability to be licensed and certified through the Washington State Department of Health to provide direct client care as an LMHC or, LMHC or, LICSW. Associcates will be considered.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, per agency standards.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, per agency standards.
  • New employees with out-of-state licenses must obtain a Washington State Driver’s License within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains clients as an outpatient therapeutic model of intervention lasting 3-4 months.
  • Provides treatment using Evidence-Based Practices in weekly or bi-weekly counseling.
  • Addresses symptom management, interpersonal processes, psychotherapeutic recreation, self-concept, and social role so individuals function at their highest potential and avoid acute care situations.
  • Knows and complies with all applicable ethical standards; insurance requirements, and seeks out clarification if needed.
  • Ensures services provided are properly documented in accordance with program, agency, and regulatory requirements and documentation is completed timely.
  • Is responsible for completion of mental health assessments as needed.
  • Makes referrals to outside agencies for acute mental health, SUD (substance use disorder), SAY (sexually aggressive youth) and neuropsychological services as needed.
  • Communicates regularly with supervisor to accurately report therapeutic interventions and caseload capacity.
  • Completes assigned and required training in a timely manner.
  • Attends and actively participates in weekly meetings.
