About The Position

Provides an advanced level of mental health treatment in both individual and group settings. Primary duties include crisis intervention, risk assessment, diagnostic impression utilizing the DSM, short-term stabilization services as well as individual and group therapy. Treatment is provided based upon sound theoretical principles, with knowledge of the special issues and needs of the population served. The incumbent develops treatment strategies to meet the multifaceted needs of a diverse population, with attention to the policies and procedures of the organization, and is expected to interface with both internal and external treatment providers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited program in counseling, psychology, or social work.
• MO LMSW, MO LCSW, or MO LPC (for staff with a master's degree in social work).
• Knowledge of psychiatric terminology and the process of psychiatric diagnosis.
• Knowledge of the theory and practice of mental health assessment and treatment.
• Basic research skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to demonstrate good independent judgment.
• Ability to adapt to new duties and work in a changing environment.
• Completion of training as directed through orientation and/or by Leadership, Management or Educators in the established timeline for continued employment.
