About The Position

At Friends of Youth, we believe every child, youth, and family deserves access to compassionate, high-quality mental health care. We are seeking a licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team and provide counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, and care coordination services to youth and families throughout our community. Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or another related human services field.
  • Washington State licensure as: LICSW or LSWAIC, LMHC or LMHCA, LMFT or LMFTA
  • At least one year of experience working with children, youth, and/or families preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must satisfactorily pass a criminal history background check.
  • Must satisfactorily pass a tuberculosis (TB) screening.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid Washington State driver's license (or be able to obtain one by date of employment).
  • Must maintain a safe driving record in accordance with Friends of Youth requirements.
  • Must maintain auto liability insurance if using a personal vehicle for agency business.
  • Must successfully complete CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to youth and families.
  • Conduct mental health assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions in accordance with the most current DSM criteria.
  • Deliver evidence-based, culturally responsive therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization support as needed.
  • Coordinate care and collaborate with schools, families, community providers, and other support systems.
  • Facilitate referrals and connect clients with community resources.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with Medicaid, WAC, COA, King County, and agency requirements.
  • Participate in individual supervision, case consultation, and team meetings.
  • Maintain direct service hours at approximately 60% of total weekly work hours.
