About The Position

In accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority and Mental Health and Addictions services, the incumbent is accountable for provision of direct concurrent mental health and addiction services to children and youth, adults and their families. These services will include primarily case management, individual, group and family counseling, and public education/consultation in the area of mental health and addictions. The incumbent shall function within the practice principles of the Mental Health and Addictions Services’ program management model. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Requirements

• Degree in Human Services/Health Sciences or related field
• Advanced - Written Communication Skills
• Basic - Data entry skills
• Advanced - Computer skills
• Advanced - Verbal communication skills
• Advanced - Interpersonal skills
• Intermediate - Time management skills
• Intermediate - Organizational skills
• Accurately triage addiction(s), collectively develop a recovery and case plan.
• Ability to provide public presentation and professional training.
• Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act
• Knowledge of Matrix Addictions Programming
• Ability to assess, treat and implement mental health plans for youth & families
• Knowledge in mental health/illness impacts related to children and adolescents
• Knowledge of normal and abnormal development
• Knowledge in development model of recovery (SMRS)
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• Knowledge in addiction issues and mental health disorders
• Knowledge in appropriate treatment modalities for adolescents and their families
• Knowledge of systems theory and human lifespan development
• Ability to cope effectively with stress, change, and diversity
• Knowledge in youth mental health impacts and systems of complex care
• Ability to competently use computers and software applications
• Knowledge in child development, family systems theory and attachment theory
• Knowledge in Motivational Assessment Process
• Knowledge in local human service organizations, resources, referral procedures
• Knowledge in Mental Health and Addictions
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body

Responsibilities
