Requirements

  • Degree in Human Services field acceptable to the employer
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Knowledge of motivational interviewing
  • Client confidentiality and the Health Information Protection Act
  • Adherence to the Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act and Family Services Act
  • Demonstrate accountability, promptness, dependability, professionalism
  • Knowledge of principles and implementation of behavioral health skills
  • Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation
  • Registered/eligible to register with corresponding professional association

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in brief treatment modalities in PHC setting is an asset
  • Previous experience leading and facilitating group activities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide brief treatment modalities in a PHC setting.
  • Provide clinical interventions related to Primary Health Care.
  • Provide clinical interventions in Integrated Care or Community Health Care.
  • Provide brief, solution focused interventions.
  • Follow structure and maintain routine.
  • Lead group activities.
  • Evaluate the mind-body-behavior connection.
  • Work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Work under stress.
  • Support improved functioning.
