Requirements
- Degree in Human Services field acceptable to the employer
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Excellent documentation skills
- Communication skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge of motivational interviewing
- Client confidentiality and the Health Information Protection Act
- Adherence to the Code of Ethics.
- Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act and Family Services Act
- Demonstrate accountability, promptness, dependability, professionalism
- Knowledge of principles and implementation of behavioral health skills
- Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation
- Registered/eligible to register with corresponding professional association
Nice To Haves
- Experience in brief treatment modalities in PHC setting is an asset
- Previous experience leading and facilitating group activities preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide brief treatment modalities in a PHC setting.
- Provide clinical interventions related to Primary Health Care.
- Provide clinical interventions in Integrated Care or Community Health Care.
- Provide brief, solution focused interventions.
- Follow structure and maintain routine.
- Lead group activities.
- Evaluate the mind-body-behavior connection.
- Work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Work under stress.
- Support improved functioning.
