About The Position

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is a community-based organization founded in 1978, committed to providing quality, comprehensive health, human, housing, educational, and cultural services to diverse communities, specializing in service to Latinos in Washington State. Sea Mar serves all persons regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, sexual orientation, or ability to pay. The network includes over 90 medical, dental, and behavioral health clinics, along with various nutritional, social, and educational services. This position is for a full-time therapist at the Burien location within the Sea Mar Behavioral Health program. Interest in perinatal mental health is preferred due to work within the Maternity Support Services Program. The Mental Health Therapist (MHT) is responsible for individual and group counseling, case management, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, and treatment planning. They will also provide referrals and coordinate with medication providers, primary care physicians, and other community agencies. Therapists must be able to accurately diagnose mental health issues and develop treatment plans. Services may occasionally require meeting clients in the community. The team is growing and diverse, fostering a rich clinical environment that is supportive and invigorating, with close collaboration with medical providers to establish a whole health home for clients.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, or social work which includes coursework in psychological assessment
  • Must meet WAC requirements for the designation of Mental Health Professional
  • Must be licensed or have an associate's license
  • Must be comfortable working with computers, Microsoft Office and other software

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred
  • Interest in perinatal mental health preferred
  • Experience with mental health evaluation of children is a plus
  • Experience with evidence-based models of treatment is a plus
