This position provides patient care to adolescents with acute and chronic mental health problems. The role involves assisting in therapeutic conduction of individual, marital, family, and group psychotherapies. The Mental Health Technician will coordinate service provision, consult with colleagues, and participate in therapy sessions. A key aspect of the role is close observation of patients, evaluating and recording behavior and reaction patterns for the treatment team. The technician will utilize therapeutic communication, role model de-escalation techniques, and provide direct supervision and behavioral health interventions under the direction of a Nurse. Maintaining appropriate records and assisting patients with daily activities are also core functions. The position may involve clinical supervision and training of peer technicians, as well as community outreach and educational efforts.
