About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Mental Health Technician to support individuals receiving Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment. This role plays an essential part in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment where patients can focus on healing and recovery. The Mental Health Technician will also play a key role in supporting telehealth services by assisting the provider with coordination of virtual visits and preparing patients to participate in telehealth appointments. This is an in-person position and is ideal for someone who is empathetic, organized, reliable, and passionate about helping others improve their quality of life.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment or healthcare required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable supporting technology uses for telehealth visits.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Dependable and team oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating telehealth visits between patients and providers.
  • Prepare patients for telehealth appointments, ensuring they are ready and able to engage with the provider.
  • Coordinate the order of daily telehealth visits in collaboration with the provider, based on provider guidance and clinical priorities.
  • Provide direct support and supervision to patients receiving substance use disorder treatment.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment.
  • Observe and report changes in patient behavior or condition to clinical staff.
  • Support treatment programming and help coordinate with provider’s guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, providers, therapists, and other members of the care team.
  • Maintain professional boundaries while building rapport and trust with the patients.
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures, confidentiality standards and safety procedures.
