About The Position

Pathways is a 16-bed adult inpatient behavioral health unit within Elliot Behavioral Health Services. This unit is staffed by a team of mental health professionals who provide tailored evaluation and treatment services to individual patients with persistent mental health illnesses. Patients are admitted voluntarily or involuntarily for 5-14 days. The state-of-the-art units offer a wide array of equipment and patient acuity, catering to nurses' professional interests, certifications, and experience levels.

Requirements

• Associates degree, Certification in Behavioral Sciences program, or its equivalent coursework required
• 6 months experience in a behavioral health setting
• Aggression de-escalation training approved by EHS

Responsibilities

• Participates in conversation, recreational activities, and basic living activities
• Sets limits, confronts counterproductive behavior, and reassures or orients patients
• Performs safety checks and assists in managing the therapeutic milieu
• Collaborates with other unit personnel with crisis intervention techniques
• Facilitates and leads community meetings and groups
