About The Position
Mental Health Technician Opportunity - Originally established in 1898, Windsor Laurelwood has served the community for over 125 years, providing high-quality behavioral health and substance use treatment services to adults, adolescents, and children. Our multidisciplinary treatment team includes board-certified psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, licensed social workers, case managers, milieu and activity therapists. The Windsor Laurelwood team is dedicated to helping you regain control of your life. The Mental Health Technician is a vital part of Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Health’s treatment team. This is a full time position with an opportunity to work on the day, evening, or overnight shift. Our full time positions require employees to work every other weekend and there is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in a mental health or substance abuse treatment facility is strongly preferred
Nice To Haves
- Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- College student who has obtained or are pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services are preferred
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
- Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
- Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
- Assist with patient groups and activities
- Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
- Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
- Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques
