About The Position

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) provides direct care to children, adolescents and adult patients with psychiatric disorders, to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients. MHTs have the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient’s safety on the unit. Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent.
Previous healthcare experience required.
Medium Work – Exerting 20 – 50 pounds of force occasionally or 10 – 25 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
Grasping; Speaking; Hearing; Computer use; Visual acuity (color, depth perception, field of vision); Sitting; Standing; Walking; Pushing; Pulling; Stooping; Reaching; Twisting; Crouching; Agility to perform physical restraints / holds; Agility to administer CPR

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field preferred.
