About The Position

Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join their team. This role is crucial in impacting the lives of children and youth by helping them unlock their full potential through developing independent living and social skills. The MHT will work in a clinically based environment, gaining knowledge and experience in psychiatric and mental health services. DCBHC provides programs and services for children and adolescents experiencing acute psychiatric crises in a safe and compassionate inpatient environment. Located in Malvern, PA, the MHT will establish and maintain therapeutic rapport with adolescents, assisting, supporting, and instructing them in self-help, coping skills, and positive behavioral interventions as outlined in their clinical treatment plan.

Requirements

High school diploma and two years of direct care experience OR a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline (e.g., psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, health, recreation, criminal justice, counseling).
Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing.
Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more.
Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision.
Occasional use of computers and office equipment.
Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes.
