MHT Mental Health Technician, Nights
About The Position
As a Mental Health Technician (MHT) at Clear Vista, you will be a vital part of our team, providing care for behavioral health. Our psychiatric programs and therapies are designed to help individuals and families recover from mental health disorders and traumatic events. Our facility offers a peaceful and calming environment to ensure patients feel safe and serene during treatment. Therapies include one-on-one psychotherapy, group therapy, and recreational therapy. This role focuses on creating a calm, structured milieu where healing can occur, providing a vigilant presence during the night shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required
- Age 21+
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods and assist with lifts/transfers as needed
- Empathy, consistency, and clear communication
Nice To Haves
- Some college or STNA/EMT experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform frequent safety rounds, observations, and 1:1s as assigned; document behaviors and interventions.
- Lead or assist with groups: coping skills, grounding, recreation, and ADLs support.
- Partner with RNs during crises using verbal de-escalation, redirection, and team response protocols.
- Support admissions/intakes: belongings inventory, vitals, and orientation to the unit.
- Maintain a therapeutic, tidy environment and uphold visitor policies.
- Ensure continuity of care overnight with vigilant observation and timely documentation.
- Manage after-hours admissions and urgent needs; prepare a thorough handoff to the day team.
