About The Position

Kettering Health Behavioral Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Mental Health Technician for their Adult Psych unit. This role involves providing essential care and comfort to patients and their families, with services tailored to the age of the patient population. The technician will function as a key member of the treatment team, carrying out specific patient care and program duties, including program implementation and milieu management. Responsibilities also include documenting patient care, observations, and charting, all under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role requires data entry skills and the ability to manage multiple phone lines and voicemails.

Requirements

  • High school graduate with two or more years of post-high school education, majoring in behavioral health, psychology, sociology, nursing, or other psychiatric/medical related program.

Responsibilities

  • Performs vital services in caring for personal needs and provision of comfort to patients and families
  • Perform services in manners specific to the age of the patient population
  • Functions as a member of the treatment team and performs specific patient care and program duties
  • Responsibility for program implementation and milieu management
  • Documents and records patient care including observation, protection, and charting provisions of personal care according to direction of registered nurse
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients
  • Work is performed in accordance with established program documents, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the hospital and department.
